The November 26, 2008 was to effect the first meeting of the Management Committee of the Biosphere Reserve La Campana - Peñuelas, which is to design a management plan for the area to reconcile the activities of biodiversity conservation with economic and social development, and maintenance associated cultural values.
The Committee is a public-private entity headed by the mayor of Valparaiso, Mr. Iván de la Maza, and in which 19 representatives of institutions attended by representatives of all sectors.
